This is definitely not my first blog, but this is my first blog on this page.
Today was the most productive day of my life. I broke my own record of the longest
perl script which does nothing. that is correct, this script actually consumes all the memory available without accomplishing anything. My manager on the other hand, broke his own previous record of the longest meeting which accomplished nothing.............
I sometimes wonder why people don't see through all these managers. Their vocabulary is limited to a very few words
1. Are we on top of everything for the release?
2. The goal is to stay ahead of the curve
3. The idea is to better leverage on the potential of the group
4. Where are we in terms of our goals and deliverables?
5. How is this new algorithm going to help solve our customers problems better?
6. The primary focus of the group remains unchanged
7. We have to try to see beyond our domain
8. What are our learnings, looking at the previous development cycle and what are our plans moving forward
I was actually in a meeting the other day, where 16 people talked for over one hour by randomly picking a statement from the above listed 8.

there are many instances in life where you are "over utilized and still not billable"... thats what you are going through!
but maybe in your non consultant world, you still get payed for it, so dont worry about being useless....
